Clemson University’s Virtual Reality and Nature Lab applies an interdisciplinary, technological focus to the study of people’s connections and interactions with the natural world.

The lab has two areas of primary focus:

  1. Conducting both basic and applied research on the therapeutic effects of simulated natural environments on human health and well-being.

  2. Discovering ways to evaluate and enhance the frequency, richness, and meaningfulness of nature-based connections and interactions.

Research is conducted by Clemson University researchers and by researchers at affiliated institutions throughout the United States.

Samples of our 360-degree videos are available on our YouTube channel.

Our lab uses Clemson University-approved billing rates that are at or below market rates, in service of our land-grant mission. 100% of the funds received through University-approved billing rates support the Virtual Reality & Nature Lab and our continued development and delivery of Tandem VR™.
